Pricing
How much will it cost me for XYZ? That’s the million dollar question, but don’t be alarmed, it’s not gonna cost a million bucks!
We hear it a lot, and since no two jobs are the same it’s pretty difficult to say over the phone “site” unseen. The only way to get an exact price on a specific project or task is to get one of our service experts out to your home or business so we can take a look at it. The purpose of this page is to educate you on “how” we price and to provide ballpark ranges for some types of jobs so you can decide if it’s worth it for us to come in the first place.
How We Price
We provide what’s called flat-rate pricing. This means that an up-front fixed price is provided for a specific job, or group of jobs, and it’s fixed regardless of how long it takes. We don’t break out the materials and labor. And, we don’t quote open ended hourly labor rates and add in the materials later. In this case you wouldn’t know the total cost until the job is complete. All the risk is on you, the homeowner!
Big Jobs vs. Small Jobs
It’s the small jobs that seem expensive. That’s because they are terribly inefficient (that’s why most remodeling companies won’t do them). These jobs have the same fixed costs as larger jobs. Things like set up, drive time, as well as overhead items such as paying call center employees, cell phones, tools, trucks, gas, insurance, etc. It all adds up. So you can’t simply divide the price of a small job by how long it takes to determine if it’s fair; it doesn’t work that way.
Our larger jobs like bathroom and interior renovations are inherently more cost effective because our labor is managed more efficiently, and our fixed and overhead costs are spread out over days or weeks, not hours.
Bundling Jobs
Our pricing also works on a sliding scale. The more we do the better our pricing. It’s sort of like shipping. Shipping rates are lower to ship 10 small items in one big box than to ship the same 10 items in smaller individual boxes. Additionally it takes more time to package and label 10 boxes, as opposed to one, and 10 small boxes cost more than the big one. So it’s less expensive and more efficient to bundle them. Make sense?
It’s the same with us. We can knock out 10 small jobs in a day if done together, but individually they may require one or two hours each (10- 20 hours vs. a day). So there’s a labor advantage as well as better overhead distribution. And, we pass it on to you with one flat rate fixed price. Many other companies simply add them up and don’t pass on any savings. If you want us to price small jobs individually, we will, but their sum will be more than if they’re grouped together.
The beauty of using Pink Rose Home Service® is that because our service expert technicians are multi-skilled, we’re able to bundle many tasks requiring different tradesmen. That’s right; one man can do them all! They can be un-related annoying jobs like a honey-do list, or related jobs like fixing a plumbing or roofing leak and repairing the water damage to drywall, flooring and paint. So you not only save money by bundling, but you’re not wasting valuable time trying to find individual specialists for each task. Good luck with that!
